Take me out to the ballgame...

The Rupps came over for a quick visit this weekend.  Friday morning Ella helped me feed Calleigh her fruit and cereal.
J.D. kept Calleigh entertained.
We went to the Tigers vs. Indians game on Friday night.  It was Calleigh's first Tigers game and the Tigers actually won!
J.D. wanted some "funness" so we took the kids on the carousel and ferris wheel.

Beach Babe

Last weekend I took Calleigh to visit Oma and Opa while Russ was working in Kansas City.  Calleigh hit the Lake Michigan beach for the first time.  It was a perfect day for the beach.  There were some really good waves and I think the sound of them made Calleigh a little uneasy.  Of course she loved the sand though!

There was a little pool of water higher up on the beach which was perfect for Calleigh to sit in and play in the sand.

Mmm...watermelon.
My mom got Calleigh a pair of shades that actually fit her and surprisingly she left them on for a while.
I couldn't resist giving Calleigh a little suck on the lemon from my tea.  Pucker up!

Help! Get me outta here!

Imagine my surprise when I went in to get Calleigh up from her nap yesterday and saw this.  I could only laugh...and take a picture of course!  She wasn't yelling or crying but just looked at me like "what have I gotten myself into?"

Cousins, cousins! Everywhere there are cousins!

My Grandma Weiderman, who celebrated her 95th birthday only a few months ago, passed away a couple weeks ago.  It was hard to see her go and she will be greatly missed but it was such a blessing to see her pass so peacefully and know that her struggle with her health is over and that she is in heaven watching over us with Grandpa.
We went back to Sturgis for Grandma's visitation and funeral and got the chance to spend a lot of time with the family.  There were babies everywhere!  There were nine babies born into the family last year and Calleigh got to hang out with most of them at some point or another.  Here are a few of them.
Calleigh, Violet (11 days younger than Calleigh), Dechlan (3 weeks older than Calleigh), and Dane (about 2-1/2 months older than Calleigh)

Mommy's Recent Favorites

My little sweetheart.
A tooth!!  Calleigh got her first tooth at the end of June.  The second came in a couple weeks later and if our midnight rendezvous last night is any indication, it won't be long and we'll see a third.
Ugh, what happened to those Tigers??  Calleigh is going to have to cheer louder for them.
My brown eyed girl.
Daddy's cutie pie.
Our little giggle monster.

Laurie's Baby Shower

Yay, Laurie's having a baby!!  We were able to pull off an impromptu baby shower for Laurie at the end of June.  Seems like its so difficult to get everyone together these days but it just so happened that Laurie was in Sturgis from Boston and the rest of us were able to get there as well so we figured we'd take the opportunity to catch up and shower the mother-to-be and Baby Girl Lawson (due in October) with some gifts.
Lou is pregnant, too, and expecting her second (also a baby girl) a few weeks before Laurie.  Here are the two cute and sassy mamas-to-be.
Calleigh hanging out with the ladies.

Tuckered out!  Too much excitement for one afternoon.

Fieb Fest 2010

Russ decided to compete in this year's Fieb Fest.  He grilled a beef brisket and chicken wings.  He placed 7th (out of 8!).  I think his chicken wings were just a little too hot for the judges.  Better luck next year!
This was the first time that Calleigh and Dechlan were able to really interact with eachother.  It was fun to watch them learn to play together.
